Now, that I’m down in Georgia (for Thanksgiving), thoughts of one of my most recent visits come to mind. It was my PIC’s birthday and I wanted to take him somewhere really nice. I wanted to wow him in such a way that he would never forget that particular birthday. So you can only imagine the pressure of picking the right restaurant. I lived in New York at that time. New York, I know. Georgia, I visit occasionally but not enough to know what restaurant would go above and beyond my or my PIC’s expectations. Finally, I just left it up to chance but not before asking my PIC what dessert he felt like eating on his birthday. When he said cheesecake, I used Yelp to find restaurants in Atlanta and I searched every menu of the over 40 restaurants that came up to see which one had cheesecake (along with a decent entrée menu). In the end, I picked Davio’s for no other reason that how they worded their menu items. To this day, it is still one of the best decisions of my dining life!
To be honest, Davio’s was a little hard to find. I knew it was going to be an upscale place but I thought it would be located in a building all by itself. You could imagine my shock when after circling around a mall several times (which the GPS kept insisting that our location was in the exact vicinity of that mall) to know that Davios was in fact in that said mall (Phipps Mall). Oh Lordy! What did I do? What kind of place did I pick. UGH, this is a bait and switch operation. The website fooled me. The menu tricked me. These were all the things running through my head as i walked through Bloomingdales or was it Nordstrom to get to Davios.
We got there around 2 so there was hardly anyone there. Lunch was over and that’s just the way I like it. I hate noisy, crowded places especially when I’m eating. Our hostess was a very friendly girl, while she took us to our seats, I stepped away to inform her that I was Tia (whom she had spoken to earlier about the birthday treat for the birthday boy), she made me feel relaxed and at ease and urged me that they would take very good care of me. Yipee! From the minute we walked in, both my PIC and I were in love with the restaurant. The decor was modern and posh. And later, we both agreed that our waiter was just wonderful. He was knowledgeable and helpful. We felt right at ease and actually enjoyed our dishes which seem to come out at just the right times

Appetizers…..
Entrées….
Unfortunately, they had no cheesecake left when we got there. Really? You could imagine my surprise especially since I pointed this out when I first called. So we had to choose something else in its place BUT they gave it to us, just for the inconvenience. My PIC was very happy with this little birthday treat
I just absolutely loved this restaurant! I definitely think this is one of the best Atlanta has to offer. Price wise it’s a little expensive but you will surely get your money’s worth. The meaning of service is redefined at this place. Everyone is so inviting and really appreciate you for your business. The food is delicious, eclipsed only by the amazing service. And you could imagine how happy I was to hear my PIC say a few days ago “We should go back to Davio’s now that we’re down here” Ahhh, yes! Mission accomplished. If you’re ever in the area, give Davio’s a try!
Bye For Now….

Wow! What a great blog you’ve got over here! Beautiful post, that calimari is calling my name.
