Honestly, I think just the look of this cocktail screams: SUMMER! Uh….any time is the right time for a delicious cocktail. No seasonal drinks around here. I’ll drink “Autumn” Drinks in the Spring and “Spring” Drinks in the Winter. Whatever is handy is what I’ll be whipping up. Take for example these blueberries I had laying around. Had they stayed in the fridge a few more days, they would have ended up in the garbage because they would have been quite mushy or just plain old. So, I had to do something with them. You may think of some type of dessert when you hear blueberry but frankly, I just wasn’t up to making a dessert. Smoothie? Uh, no thanks. Alcoholic beverage? YES! Right up my alley. Now I don’t want you good folks, wandering around on this site thinking that I have a drinking problem now…..but…..ah…..I forgot what I was about to type. I kid! I kid! *grins*
Ingredients:
4 ounces bourbon (I used Maker’s)
1 cup blueberries
juice from 1 lemon (or maybe two lemons)
2 tbsp maple syrup
Ice
Method:
1. Start with about 3/4 cup of blueberries. Muddle them down in a cocktail shaker
2. Add in bourbon, lemon juice and maple syrup. Shake for a good minute or two.
3. Fill your glass/mason jar with ice and some leftover blueberries. Pour the bourbon cocktail into the glass/jar and garnish with a lemon slice. Enjoy!
Luckily, I used a mason jar because I was unable to finish my drink so all I did was put on the lid, sealed it up and left it alone until another time….most probably, the next day.
Bye For Now…..

That looks really refreshing, just the kind of drink that makes those cold winter days bearable.
blueberries+bourbon= <3
I just bought some Maker’s Mark and blueberries – this is perfect!!
I would love to try this. Any whisky would do right?
Bourbon whiskey :)
