Sex on the Beach

Hmmm. That sounds like a perfect start to my weekend. The drink, silly. I don’t want anyone’s imaginations running away with them now. Hehehe. Remember when I made the Blue Lemonade and the Bermuda Triangle? I said I usually love to make cocktails and imagine that I’m on a beach in my island relaxing on a beach and living life? Well this drink is another appropriate one to sip on while I put my imagination to work. It’s a classic vodka based drink with lots of fruity tones to make to a wonderful blend to whisk you away to paradise, figuratively of course.

Ingredients:
2 oz vodka
1 oz peach schnapps
2 oz cranberry juice
2 oz orange juice

Method:
Add vodka and peach schnapps to a highball glass over ice. Fill with equal measures of cranberry juice and orange juice, and stir.

Bye For Now…..

  1. When I did drink, I loved the flavor of this fruity drink.

  2. You cheeky monkey with this saucy cocktail! Actually, it bought back memories of when I was about 18 and cocktail bars were all the rage in London (the late 80s, so now you know my age ;) ) and we used to think we were ever so decadent ordering this with our big curly perms, chunky earrings and shoulder pads!!

nice…. problem is i have everything else on hand except the peach schnapps, so can i replace it with something else or wait till i get the peach!!!

Without the schnapps it won’t quite be a sex on the beach because the schnapps is a liqueur (meaning even more alcohol for your drink hehehe) so I would suggest increasing the vodka and using a peach flavored soda, or juice or even if you find peach in the can, puree it, add all the ingredients to a shaker and then strain into the glass you plan to drink out of and add ice.

  4. Happy tropical drink. This morning it looked like a beachy drink might have suited this day– it was all sunny and warm. I even busted out the flip flops. But that has since gone away. We might need to make drinks and pretend.

  5. Mmm, one of my fave cocktails. Looks so bright and cheery for these gray February days – I’ll take one … or three…!

My college years just flashed before my eyes! One of my fave cocktails when life was easy breezy (of course, we all thought we were crazy busy with school and social activities!). I’ll have to make this drink soon!! :-)

    Thanks, Tia!

  7. Alas, it’s Lent and I’m on a 40-day hiatus from so many things, including alcoholic beverages. Oh, but what I would do for a “Sex on the Beach”! And “Chica Andaluza” , I was you only an ocean away! LOL. (Oh God, I can’t believe I was wearing those shoulder pads, and those horrible hoop chunky hoop earrings — with the Janet Jackson “Control” key hanging through one of them. Why didn’t someone save me from myself? Those cocktails robbed me of sanity obviously.)

  8. Lovin’ your blog, Tia. I can relate to your dietary dilemmas of trying to eat healthier while still enjoying great foods. I have incorporated lots of fruits and veggies into my diet, but some things are hard to part with….like WINE!
