Or Tia’s Mangorita if you prefer. Am I too early with this drink? Doesn’t matter. I told you guys before that there are no seasonal drinks around here. We drink “winter” drinks in the summer and “spring” drinks in the fall. All year round. Any time is the right time for any drink. Even though I used frozen mangoes for these babies, they were still fabulous! Say it with me FAB-YOU-LUS(T). No, I’m not tipsy or drunk writing this post. I’m just in a great, sunshiny mood. Why? Because Spring is officially here and the weather seems to be getting better and better! I will toast to that. Why not?
Now there are several mango margaritas recipes floating around so I’ll give you the classic and then I’ll give you MINE. I’ll be fair and warn you that mines is strong and it’s basically 2 margaritas in one serving so proceed with caution.
Taken From HERE
Classic Mango Margarita
4 oz. tequila
1 oz. Triple Sec
2 mangos, peeled and seeded
2 oz. water
2 cups crushed ice
Method: Everything in blender. Blend. Serve.
Ingredients for MY Mango Margarita:
3 ounces gold tequila
3 ounces silver tequila
2 ounces Grand Marnier (or triple sec)
5 mango ice cubes (frozen pureed mango)
juice of 1 lemon
juice of one lime
1 ounce mango nectar (optional)
Method:
Toss everything into the blender and blend! You’re gonna need a tall glass.
Now here’s what I did. I took a bag of frozen mangoes, pureed them in a blender and saved the puree in a jar. I used half the puree to make frozen ice cubes and the other half just lying around in the fridge. Now instead of using ice cubes for my margarita, I used my frozen pureed mango (cubes) and I also added a little refrigerated puree to my mix. I wanted it as mango-y as possibly. Do you understand?
Frozen Mango…
Pureed…
The frozen ice cubes can be seen in the Ingredients photo. I did the same thing with peaches so you know who’s gonna have all types of wonderful drinks around here right? Yup! That’ll be me. Here’s one from the second batch.
And guess what I did? I even made some for another day OR to take with me on the go!!! Ah, life is grand.

Why can’t simple mango juice ever look so breathtaking and delicious ;)
