Last Friday, while priming for the weekend, my PIC quietly said “Babe, can you make me a tequila sunrise please?” It was so cute that I just couldn’t resist. I had never made a tequila sunrise before. I’ve had them but never made one and I know my luck sometimes. When someone requests something, that’s the time when I just flop, fail and falter. As I waltzed into the kitchen, I said to him “This probably isn’t going to come out like the ones you know so just work with me here”. All while making it, I kept thinking “Do not disappoint this man. So very rarely he asks specifically for something so do not fail now”. Well, when I presented this beauty to him, I saw the biggest smile I had ever seen from him. He even asked for a second! I can now add this drink to my collection of things I can do blindfolded. It’s soooooooo easy!
Ingredients:
1 (1 1/2 ounce) jigger tequila
3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
ice cubes
1/2 (1 1/2 ounce) jigger grenadine syrup
Method:
1. Stir or shake together tequila and orange juice.
2. Fill a chilled 12 ounce glass with ice cubes; pour in orange juice mixture.
3. Slowly pour in the grenadine, and allow it to settle to the bottom of the glass (be patient).
4. Garnish with a slice of orange, and a maraschino cherry if you wish
