Amaretto Sour

My first taste of this classic was 5 years ago. A friend of mine ordered it for me and when I tried it, I thought it was the best [alcoholic] drink ever. I am a huge lime fan. Limeade (or lime juice) is one of my favorite drinks so the taste of it mixed with this wonderful almond liqueur made for a very lovely and delicious drink. Yum.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 oz amaretto almond liqueur
1 – 2 splashes sweet and sour mix ( I made my own with lime, lemon, sugar and water)

Method:
Pour the amaretto liqueur into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Add a splash or two of sweet and sour mix, and shake well. Strain or pour into an old-fashioned glass, garnish with a maraschino cherry and a slice of orange, and serve.

Bye For Now…..

  1. One of my favorite drinks of all time! It’s one of those drinks that when you first start doing the grown up ‘cocktails and conversations’ bit in a lounge that you either order wine or this…well, at least, that’s what I did. My go-to drinks included this and Long Island Ice Teas, and later evolved into martinis. Now, it’s whatever has incredients that have a sweet, island-y taste.
