My first taste of this classic was 5 years ago. A friend of mine ordered it for me and when I tried it, I thought it was the best [alcoholic] drink ever. I am a huge lime fan. Limeade (or lime juice) is one of my favorite drinks so the taste of it mixed with this wonderful almond liqueur made for a very lovely and delicious drink. Yum.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz amaretto almond liqueur
1 – 2 splashes sweet and sour mix ( I made my own with lime, lemon, sugar and water)
Method:
Pour the amaretto liqueur into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Add a splash or two of sweet and sour mix, and shake well. Strain or pour into an old-fashioned glass, garnish with a maraschino cherry and a slice of orange, and serve.
Bye For Now…..

Looks wonderful! I really like the maraschino cherry garnish!
Amaretto sour is one of my favorite drinks ever!
Your drinks look so good. I wish my liver was able to metabolise alcohol.
This drink looks so beautiful :D

Yes please! Actually, I have a pal here who loves amaretto, so will have to make her one of these ;)
I’ve never had one of these, but I love Amaretto and I love sours. Think I’d like this? I’ll bet I would!
One of my favorite drinks of all time! It’s one of those drinks that when you first start doing the grown up ‘cocktails and conversations’ bit in a lounge that you either order wine or this…well, at least, that’s what I did. My go-to drinks included this and Long Island Ice Teas, and later evolved into martinis. Now, it’s whatever has incredients that have a sweet, island-y taste.
Wow, this sounds awesome! I’ve been experimenting with my cocktail skills lately- I’ll have to try this one next!
