Strawberry Lime-onade Cocktail

My MIL makes an amazing drink almost every time I go to GA to visit. It’s the fruitiest, most refreshing drink anyone can ask for on a hot summer’s day. Recently, I decided to make try my hands at this strawberry limeade-lemonade she makes but giving it my own twist. I added vodka! I don’t think she would approve of my alcohol version but I must say that this addition makes for a tasty and delicious cocktail. If you’re not an alcohol drinker, you should still give the recipe a try and in place of the vodka, add club soda or sparkling water. This one is a winner for the summer! Try it soon.

Ingredients:
1 cup sugar (or more if you wish)
2 cups water
1 heaping cup strawberries, hulled and chopped (measure after chopping)
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from 4 to 5 lemons)
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (from 2 to 3 limes)
1 cup vodka (more or less to your preference)

Method:
1. Make a simple syrup by bringing the sugar and 1 cup (plain) water to a boil in a small pot. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

2. Add the strawberries, cooled simple syrup, juices, and vodka to a blender and process on high until smooth. Pour through a fine-mesh strainer to catch the strawberry seeds.

3. Stir together the strawberry limonade puree water in a large pitcher. Serve immediately, neat or over crushed ice and lime, lemon and strawberry slices if you wish

Bye For Now…..
