Well, let me tell you that I had no idea that having no Coca Cola could result in such a beautiful drink. It all started when I decided to make a Long Island Iced Tea. It was the first time in forever I had had almost every type of liquor in my home bar. Soooo…..with that being the case, I was determined to make some classic drinks that called for 2 or more types of liquor. The first thing that came to my mind was Long Island iced tea. I got up and began assembling the liquors and other ingredients when lo and behold, I realized there was no coca cola. I started panicking. I went to the laundry room of my apartment complex (because there’s a vending machine there). “Good thinking Tia”, I thought as I pushed in my $1 bill and then my quarter. No Coca Cola at that machine but there was Pepsi. Pepsi would do. So I hit the appropriate button to beckon my Pepsi to come to me. “SOLD OUT” were the words I read. I rolled my eyes, collected back my money and walked back to my apartment a bit dejected. I pouted for a good five minutes….THEN, I decided to Google “Long Island Iced Tea without cola”. Tada! All sorts of variations came up. This was the one I went with. Isn’t it purtttyyyy? Happy Friday guys!
Ingredients: Serves 2
2 oz vodka
2 oz light rum ( I used not so light “Wray & Nephew overproof rum”)
2 oz tequila
2 oz gin
2 oz blue curacao
2 oz Grand Marnier
4 oz sour mix (I used limes and simple syrup)
Lemon-lime soda
Method:
Build over ice in a highball glass. Squeeze in lemon wedges, stir, and serve.
That particular day, hubby asked for a Tequila Sunrise so this was how we spent that afternoon
But back to this Electric Iced Tea….It is so strong and delicious man! It kinda reminds me of the BLUE LEMONADE I made a few months ago!
Bye For Now…..
