White Wine Sangria

Summer is officially over in two days. It went by so fast. There were some unbearably hot days and some nice cool, breezy ones and there were even days with storms that left us without power (twice). I enjoyed it all though. I made a lot more cocktails than food (a bad thing, I know) but this made for a more fun summer! This sangria right here is a twist on the traditional one that uses red wine. I’m not a big red wine fan but there’s always white wine in my house so instead of making a “hard liquor” cocktail, one hot summer day, I decided to make this sangria early in one weekend morning so my PIC and I could sip on it later that afternoon. It was definitely a light, yummy drink. A big hit with us both.

Ingredients:
1 Bottle of white wine ( I used Sauvignon Blanc)
1/2 cup St Germain (elderflower liqueur)
1/4 cup vodka
1-2 apples (sliced)
1 orange (sliced)
1 lemon (sliced)
4 limes (sliced)
2 peaches (sliced)
10 strawberries (sliced)
1/2 liter of ginger ale or club soda (ginger ale for those with a sweeter tooth!)

Method:
1. Pour wine in the pitcher and add the slices of fruits.
2. Chill overnight. Add ginger ale or club soda just before serving.
3. If you’d like to serve right away, use chilled white wine and serve over lots of ice.

So refreshing….

Bye For Now…

  1. I actually prefer white sangria over red (traditional) sangria. Although truth be told, if I’m in Spain, I prefer the traditional — it’s just outside of Spain, give me white. This looks so light, yummy and refreshing. This is beautiful.

  2. Hi Tiaaa!! I knoww! Tell me about it. I almost feel like the summer just flew by without me noticing! So sad it’s gonna get all cold and gloomy very soon! :( Anyway, I love your drink! It’s got all the summer fruity flavours I’d crave!

  3. Hey, Tia! I know you aren’t immersed in your blog as much as you once were; life happens. I get it. Thought you should know that a) your readers miss you, b) your recipe for general tso’s chicken is still the best I’ve ever had, and c) I moved the hosting for Sugar Dish Me. The address is still the same http://www.sugardishme.com/ and it would be super if you re-subscribed via email or rss feed. Thanks so much for reading Sugar Dish Me!
